Anet Margot Ris (aka Anet Ris-Kelman) is a multi-disciplinary performer who creates works that range from image-based movement pieces to story narratives to collaborating and improvising with other performers. She was a professional modern dancer in NYC and LA, dancing with Daniel Nagrin’s improv company, The Workgroup, and The Rudy Perez Performance Ensemble, among others. Her studies include many different dance forms, experimental theater, ‘kelmanworks’, Body/Mind Centering, Laban Movement Analysis, Action Theater, Buddhism, and the shamanic teachings of the Sweet Medicine path. Over the last 5 years she has created a number of character/state-of-being short form pieces and installations, and was the lead character in the movement theater show Slumming Angel. She has a BFA in Dance from NYU, and an MFA in Dance with a theater minor from the University of Wisconsin-Madison.
