Anet Margot (Ris-Kelman) is a multi-disciplinary performer who creates works that range from image-based movement pieces, to story narratives, to collaborating and improvising with other performers. She is currently a member of Portland Action Theater Ensemble. Previously she was a member of Daniel Nagrin’s improv company—The Workgroup in NYC, and The Rudy Perez Performance Ensemble in LA, among others. Her studies include many different dance forms, experimental theater (‘kelmanworks’, Action Theater), Clowning, Body/Mind Centering, Laban Movement Analysis, Buddhism, and the shamanic teachings of the Sweet Medicine Sundance Path. Since 2008, she has created a number of character/state-of-being short-form pieces and installations, and was the lead character in the movement theater show Slumming Angel. She has a BFA in Dance from NYU, and an MFA in Dance with a theater minor from the University of Wisconsin-Madison. She has received grants from the City of LA and Long Beach Video Annex. Her video poems have been shown internationally, and one won a 2nd prize in the NYC Short Film & Video Festival.
